Use the new optional argument to endRequest in the middleware Currently endRequest is called twice on an exception if Django intercepts the exception and returns it's own result. By setting optional=True we do not crash on 'assert self.in_request'.

from django.core.management.base import AppCommand

class Command(AppCommand):
    help = "Prints the DROP TABLE SQL statements for the given app name(s)."

    output_transaction = True

    def handle_app(self, app, **options):
        from django.core.management.sql import sql_delete
        return u'\n'.join(sql_delete(app, self.style)).encode('utf-8')
